Part 2>>I said all of that to say this.....To say that "I fail to see why these RAPPERS are revered, worshiped, immortalized all the time," is saying "I fail to see why these rockstars, popstars, and singers are revered, worshiped, immortalized all the time" because they all tell stories also!! If you don't relate to the hip-hop culture.....then DON'T talk about it just shut up and listen to what you can relate to!!! This world needs to be more open minded and not so traditional!!! Biggie Smalls had one major goal which is the goal of many young americans today as it was back then "I JUST WANT TO MAKE IT OUT!" and he told his story in the language that he knew (HIP-HOP) and made it out!!! Not saying he was perfect (because last I checked no one is) i'm just saying that he like all other artists was a human being loved my many and hated by just as many who loved him!! The next time you hear a Biggie Smalls song actually take time to listen and analyze it and see what you learn!!

Hip-Hop (just like other music) tells a story! In fact Hip-Hop,Jazz,Rock,Country,Rap,Classical,Pop,R&B etc. are all the same! (YES all the same) You can have a guitar and a drum set to tell a story or you can just have a mic and a turntable....but either way you tell a story!! Music is an expression and it can/does reflect what is on the inside, what has happened to you and what you want to TEACH people. Just because you don't agree with everything an artist does, doesn't mean that their message isn't powerful or that they don't have anything to offer!! Just because a man's pants is sagging and his music is different than what you're use to.... doesn't mean that he doesn't have a story or a brain intellegent enough to tell his story in the way that he chooses!!

Christopher Wallace went to PRIVATE SCHOOL as did TUPAC Shakur. These guys were great artists, and some of biggie's street rhymes were better than what was on wax. Tupac was a great positive motivational public speaker, but to idealize them for their CHOSEN (not completely, but for the most part) involvement in THUG LIFE and involvement in crime is inacurate. It doesn't show what intellegence they posessed. And that is a problem with the hip hop culture being ashamed of intellegence, as if it makes you soft/worthless/weak/unpopular/unsexy.
Both were good kids who went "gangsta" because that's were hip hop was hiding during that time.

Heiei, you obviously have never listened to Notorious. To disrespect arguably the best rapper of all time because of a lifestyle thats almost impossible to escape under the circumstances he was brought up in is just plain disresepectful. I think your also forgetting he was 24 when he was murdered, not exactly a senior citizen. He should be revered for the music he made, not for his lifestyle. You need to drop your ignorance and appreciate all forms of music.
