Joshuajackson_l J.J. Abrams is adding another J.J. to his team: The writer-producer has just cast Joshua Jackson as one of the leads of his new Fox drama, Fringe. Jackson — best known as wise-cracking Pacey from Dawson's Creek — will play a member of a unit investigating sci-fi mysteries; the gang also includes his gifted yet possibly insane scientist dad with whom he clashes (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King's John Noble) and an FBI agent (Australian actress Anna Torv). The series, which Abrams has described as similar in spirit to The X-Files, Altered States, and The Twilight Zone, is shooting a two-hour pilot with a reported $10-million-plus budget this month.

I love Joshua Jackson,I wish there were two of him. I would have loved to see him play opposite Patrick Dempsey. That would have made Grey's Anatomy better than ice-cream! I'm not a huge sci-fi fan but with him in Fringe, I'm going to have to give it a try!

Does sound great but they hired the writers of Transformers. I remember the script being the worst part about the movie. BuT so far so good!

This show sounds really similar to a show on the CW called Supernatural, which is about two brothers investigating sci-fi mysteries. And the creator of Supernatural was also inspired by The X-Files and The Twilight Zone. Ummm, yeah.

Love JJ Abrams work since Alias. Lost and Cloverfield cemented it (I'll basically see anything he's attatched to) Fringe sounds VERY promising.

Once again, EW has made my day. Teaming Jackson with Abrams is great news. Now, please send a memo to FOX that they MUST keep the show on the air for more than a few weeks. Let this not be the next Drive, Reunion, or Fastlane! PLEEEEZE!

Thank God he got this role! I didn't want him on Grey's Anatomy.

Thank god! Joshua Jackson is back on air where he belongs. He is so gorgeous. I am excited to be able to watch him again every week!

This is fantastic news! I LOVE JJ - well, both of them, actually! - and have long wished for him to be back in primetime. WooHoo!!

Love him, can't wait! He is more talented than he ever got credit for and now a wider audience will get to experience that.
