Please, this is old, old news. The photo of Tay is old. He's 50 pounds lighter now. And it goes on and on. The comparisons to Daughtry. They both are good. 70% of Daughtry fans (the ones that buy his recordings) are male between the ages of l5 and 30. Only 20% are female the same age, with approx. 10% other. With Taylor 60% were women over 35, 20% men the same age, and 20% other. Probably a large portion of these women were baby boomers. Unfortunately these people are not known for purchasing recordings. If Taylor is to be successful as a recording artist he simply must attract a different demographic.

Just loved his performance on American Idol on April 29. Loved the whiskey, gritty sound of his voice and the American populist type song, "Seven Mile Breakdown", he chose to sing. And he looked sooo good! He's become so handsome and his body looks good too. Contrary to what his nemesis, Simon, may think or say, he is going to become a big star, not only in the world of music but in the acting end of show biz. Anyone that can project that type of charisma and sex appeal is on theire way to greatness.

Taylor Hicks won AI with 63 million votes. To be able to go over the one million mark in record sales you must have the 13 to 21 purchasers. Taylor never had this group. Neither did Kat. However, he did manage to sell almost 900,000 albums world-wide and went gold with his first single. His record company threw him under the bus when he did not sell in the millions. They did nothing to promote him or cater to his demographics. They did, however, badmouth him and made him the fall guy for their incompetency.

Sorry Layne. Have to disagree with you. I took my 70 year old Mother in law and her blind friend to see taylor in concert. When the show was over and we were leaving we went around the back of the arena where Taylors bus was. I asked Mom and her friend if they would like to meet him if they can. It was raining and as I was walking across the street with the 2 women,Taylors bus started backing up to pull out. I figured oh well we tried. The bus driver saw me with the 2 old ladies he stopped the bus and within a minute Taylor appeared. He came over in the rain, talked with the ladies for about 5 minutes, signed everyting they asked him and the blind woman who was trully a big fan of his asked him if she could touch him and after roaming her hands over him for a minute joked that he was to thin and needed to eat. He laughed with her and let me tell you, I took 2 VERY happy old ladies home. As far as Taylor he shook my hand, he gave me a smile and a wink and got back on his bus

Depth of talent is what is key here and there isn't any. Throw enough money and marketing and any one can be made to achieve some success, Idol is perfect example of that. Underwood is the only real talent to come out of this show. In almost 7 years.

We older folks use our extra time to tend to our families, and we're no longer at the mall or at department stores shuffling through the music. we're grocery shopping or buying necessary items. so, that's why taylor didn't sell as many. he caters to our older age; think about this. All I can say is if you go to your local bar you can find american idols accross the country.Inside you will find that local band or that person singing karaoke that sounds just as good.It seems like this is just your typical way of media trying to get there ratings up anyway possible and we fall for it.I mean what is the first few weeks of american idol uh stupid stuff.Most of it is stupid auditions of people doing silly stuff.

While Taylor may have been charming on stage, wearing a girlde and dancing, he does not have a great voice. It does not matter whose name is on the label, his voice will not change. It lacks the quality that makes listening to it consistently interesting. I spoke to people that bought his first album, and threw it out. So, I don't think people will be easily fooled twice. That's my opinion, and apparently the general public agrees, based on lack of record sales.

Why would they help? THe 70's recording indutry has been over for a long time. You make it or you don't. Hello - I was also wondering what happened to any pictures of Taylor on the opening credits of Idol?? It is like he never one? Regardless of what he is doing now, he still should be on there with everyone else.

I think that is just not right Taylor hicks won and chris was runner up simon cowell quoted "In england the wimmer and runner up became fomous people they went off to make albums in a week". to me it has been more than one week the only album I have heard was takin to the streets and another album. Taylor hicks is my idol 100%

I don't blame them for dropping him. I went recently to one of Taylor's concerts,SOOOO disappointed AND the way he treated his fans afterwards who were waiting for autographs,who btw Bought his books so he could sign them,was AWFUL> his attitude and ego could be seen MILES away..Never again will he get any money from me.

Taylor should be playing Vegas or in Branson, MO. He routine and dress is geared for the older generation that has been supporting him since AL.

I am sooooo glad that Ruben & Taylor are now hasbeens. I was ashamed when they were given(I won't say won) their titles. Jordan is another one on her way to outsville. I hate that for her because she can really sing. Ruben and Taylor cannot.

Taylor is an original. "Keep being true to yourself". The cd's weren't any good as far as the songs. I listened to a few & I hate to say it but they were so boring. Wasn't the kind for Taylor. He's a lot better than that! I LOVE YOU, TAYLOR. BEHIND YOU 100%. GOD BLESS YOU!
