John Stamos predicts another season for 'ER'

Stamoser_l "We're ready to go back to work," John Stamos told Hollywood Insider during the Sundance Film Festival last week, referring to ER's hiatus during the writers' strike. "We have nine more episodes [to shoot this season]. And as awful as the strike has been -- of course, I'm all for the writers -- I think we're going to get another season out of ER, a 15th season. So that's the one good thing about it."

NBC says that a decision has not been made regarding ER's fate next season, but the 44-year-old Stamos does have a point about it being a show that some folks take for granted. "It’s like having a beautiful painting in your house and for 15 years you keep walking by," he said. "I tell them, 'Stop and look at this painting.' This show is just as powerful as almost anything on television right now. It still has legs. Which show casts three times and is still in the top 20?"

I agree with John Stamos! I have been with ER since day one and still watch the show every week. I find every episode interesting and I cry at least once an episode. Now that's good TV!

ja$04n:
You could not be more wrong. Maura Tierney has become the heart & soul of "ER" with her brilliant performance. Abby is a character I've cared about from her first appearance right through to the present, with all of her ups and downs.
Tierney--who should have a mantle full of Emmys by now--says this will be her last season, but hopefully the strike and its consequences will encourage her to stay long enough to complete Abby's storyline and leave with all the loose ends tied up. I'll miss her.

But I totally agree with John Stamos.
"ER" has been overlooked lately, despite it's wonderful mix of humor and heartbreaking storylines. The current cast is so enjoyable to watch, and I hope the show continues!

Ever since the Forrest Whitaker storyline, I have started watching ER again. I was there from the first episode and watched faithfully until the Abbey & Luka took over and the show began to stink. But now, I actually think John Stamos is the one responsible for bringing the freshness back to ER. But, he can stuff his "one more season," I want at least two!

What's wrong with that phrase? "Which show casts three times and is still in the top 20?" They essentially cast the entire show (with all the people that have left and the newbies) three times (with effectively 3 different groups).

"Which show casts three times and is still in the top 20?"

we missing a word here, editor? Like "changed" between "casts" & "three"?
