At the Globes: It's over. At last.

As the Golden Globes were announced during the live press conference, the biggest cheer from the crowd of publicists and reporters came, perhaps, for Californication's David Duchnovny in the Best Actor in a TV Comedy category. (That also could have been because his win was an upset over 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin.) Otherwise, the room stayed mum during the presentations, other than reporters granting occasional laughs to emcee Mary Hart's "jokes."
Now the media have nothing to do but photograph each other - literally. TV personalities got that rarest of gifts this year - the opportunity to do live shots from the Globes stage. (No one else was on it, after all.) A team of photographers rushed the stage to get shots of presenters such as The Insider's Lara Spencer. Curiously, the photogs didn't seem to be shooting E!'s Giuliana Rancic, who made the jaw-dropping declaration that she supports the Writers Guild of America. Meanwhile, Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Jorge Camara was doing interviews with anyone who would talk to him. An Extra correspondent annoyed all those around him by continuing to shout "The Winners Celebrate With Extra!" into the camera, even though there isn't a Globe winner in sight. Presumably, Extra, like the rest of the media, will interview winners tomorrow. At least the champagne is still flowing at the Globes, even if only reporters are drinking it.
