So maybe she can’t dance, but we certainly know she can talk: Marie Osmond, who finished third last season on Dancing With the Stars, announced Tuesday that she’ll return to daytime in fall 2009 with her own syndicated talk show. This is Marie’s second attempt at emulating Oprah: She and brother Donny Osmond previously hosted an afternoon talk show in 1998, but it was canceled after only two seasons. Given all that she’s experienced in the last few years alone — the death of her parents, a painful divorce, and an embarrassing on-air fainting spell — Osmond admits she has much more to share with fans this time around. “I’ve been through pretty much everything,” says the 48-year-old mother of eight. “I don’t have a million nannies. I take care of my kids. I’m just about the most authentic person you can be.”
Osmond is also considering doing a prime-time special (or two) with Donny, who’s busy exploring his own options in TV. And no, they don’t involve sporting a pair of Danskins.

Oh no please do not put Marie Osmond on the air. She was such a mess and I am sooo sick of her … get someone new to have a talk show. Marie Osmond is old news!
I agree with you Tina. Marie is old and will never be Oprah. Her show sound like a waste of time. I agree the networks need to find new blood. Not old 70′ stars. Who ever is backing this show will see that people feel Marie is old news…she has old ladies as fans.
okay I must admit I will not watch Marie. I think she is a head case. She is fake and puts on a act infront of all of us. I will be watching Oprah.

I would not worry about it girls. It is a fact that Tv stars talk shows all go down the tube in the first year. Toni Danza and Megan Mully who was Karen on Will and Grace and Sharon Osborne gosh the list is long. No one will watch Marieall this is just a waist of you time. I was a producer for 20 years and I can tell you these type of talk show go off fast. I do get it marie with a talk show if she sings i will puke…she looks old with bad plastic surgey work…yuk
I do not get who gives the okay for these type talk shows. Oh well, I will not be watch Marie. I cannot stand this women. She is old news and has had a loser life after Donny and marie. She is a foolish women.

Give me a break pleassssse. Marie with a talk show? what a joke! I predict the show will fail. No one gets Marie, how many husbands did she have? how many Kids does she have? who give a sh.t? We do not need people like Marie with a talk show we need people who have lived a good life to set us on the right road not a women who had lived her entire life as on big mess! darn those networks. all I can say is next! this show will never see the light of day. whatever marie a talk show no one I know will watch the show. I am 38 my sister is 42 and we have always felt marie needs Tv to make herself feel good not us. marie is a big fat failed women who’s life is a mess and she sits and acts like we all really care about her. i can say my household will not watch this show.
I use to like Maire but now she is grabbing at straws. She gets on dancing with the stars faints and boom as a talk show that is silly. I am a full time mother and do not get her anymore. A talk show why? she is a singer I like her better singing. Sorry having Marie 5 days a week on TV is a bit for me. I feel bad for her kids.

I clicked and got this page and was reading this story. I have to say I think the networks have lost their everlasting minds. TV is starting to suck. I must agree Marie is old. old news. Do not think it will my cup of tea Oprah still a fan of always.
Now I hard it all Marie as been around forever I do not see a new concept in place for a talk show. People are look for something any thing new. Not a good idea in my book.

Now, as far as Miss osmond is concerned, I too think it’s a bad idea for her to do a talk show. There are simply too many of them on the air and Marie will certainly wear out her welcome. She used to be a woman I truely looked up to at one time, but she treated me badly once too often and I don’t care much for her anymore.
Not surprised networks have no idea how bad of an idea this is. They sit in their big offices and have 20 year old people developing shows for us women in our 30’s-40’s and 50’s. I think Marie’s age is perfect to be a talk show host in fact she is the prime time of her life. I just think a Osmond with another show is not new to us all and people want new.

Marie I do like her but not five days a week. I like her as a singer. Sometimes I feel that the networks a are bit shy from looking for something new for a talk show so they keep falling to the older stars in hopes they can renew them. I REALLY would like to see a new face who is not a star for a talk show. Marie’s life has been rocky and I for one would like to see the talk show time go to a new face and something fun.
