When he won & signed with them. they were absolutely positive he would sell in the millions. Because of this, they did not promote his album the way they usually do. They spend about one-third the amount they usually spend. Now, he won in the spring but his album wasn’t out until almost Christmas. AI was already auditioning for Season 6.

With Taylor many of the people that voted for him, mainly teens & tweens, saw him only as a contestant. They lost interest when his album came out. Also, unfortunately, the 2nd largest group of fans (the largest group being the 35 to 55 year olds) were the elderly who generally don’t purchase albums.

When the album came out his remaining fans bought like crazy & one song went golden almost immediately. However, when it didn’t sell in the millions as expected, J Records was flabbergasted and blamed Taylor They tried to solve the problem, they had one solution, Taylor had another, they had another. But it was just too late. You do what you do when you are suppose to to it to be effective. By then Season 6 had started being televised & people weren’t that interested.

What I don’t like is the way they badmouthed Taylor depicting him as a loser & made him responsible for what they did wrong.
