CBS sets return dates for 'Big Brother,' 'Christine'

Chen_l Though the WGA is set to resume negotiations tomorrow with the AMPTP, CBS isn't taking any chances in case a deal isn't forged before Christmas. The network just announced a new lineup for January and February, which includes the return of The New Adventures of Old Christine on Jan. 28 and a first-ever winter edition of Big Brother on Feb. 12. Other debuts: The Power of 10 with Drew Carey is back Jan. 2, the next Survivor bows on Feb. 7 and Jericho returns on Feb. 12. The eye also plans to unveil The Captain, a new comedy starring Jeffrey Tambor and Raquel Welch about a group of people living in a prominent Hollywood apartment building, on Jan. 28.

Until those picketing scribes make a deal and get back in the writers' rooms, CBS will continue to air repeats of its sitcoms and dramas in their regular time periods, including How I Met Your Mother and Two and A Half Men on Mondays, NCIS on Tuesdays, CSI: NY on Wednesdays, CSI and Without a Trace on Thursdays, and Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, and Numb3rs on Fridays.

I totally disagree with Craig's assessment of BB8 - It was NOT awful, ones of the few seasonS where a contestant actually didn't care if people like them or not. One thing to Dick's credit, he was not phony and called you out for being fake.

Not a strategy I would employ, but hey it won him and Danielle the money, and that's what this GAME is all about.....WINNING!

:) YAY! Glad to see Jericho coming back.

Mary Sat, Dec 8, 2007 at 06:31 PM EST

Where are Alex O'loughlin and Sophia Myles featured in EW? Moonlight is the best! So long to reality shows and CSI stuff with their lack of imagination. On-screen or stage is for the imaginative, talented, funny and fantasy--Moonlight by CBS is that!

Beth Werrell Thu, Dec 6, 2007 at 12:21 AM EST

I would love to see more about MOONLIGHT and its sexy star, Alex O'Loughlin! He's bringin' Sexy Back to Friday nights and I can't get enough! Please, give the fans some fresh photos and more personal info about this hot star and great new show!

Thank heavens you, at least, mentioned the word Moonlight in this article. where is the coverage of this amazing and romantic show? I have subscribed to EW almost since you began publishing but I have never known such an obvious snub of a popular show. This program---like the acclamed (by EW) Beauty and the Beast, X Files, Superman and others gives us a romantic pairing in a fantastic setting. despite the lack of coverage, it seems to also have a devoted audience. I hear it is beating the lauded Friday Night Lights and Women's Murder Club. Are you only going to prefentially promote those unsucessful shows? how about a little equal time?

Glad to see Moonlight still in the lineup. Now if CBS will only get smart and order the full season so those writers can be thinking while they picket...

Carolyn, those are the rumors about the next Survivor. Get your innuendo straight!

carolyn springs Mon, Dec 3, 2007 at 11:21 PM EST

heard this rumor on http://www.bb9spoilers.com
The season will be called, "HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES". It will be 6 celebrities (paid a handsome fee for their

appearance) and 6 non-celebrities. The celebrities would live in plush surroundings at one end of the house and the

non-celebrities would live in the other end in "basic" surroundings, complete with mechanical rats and roaches. They

unwittingly vote each other to move back and forth between the areas until they are merged. Alice Cooper is one of the

celebrities under consideration-so is George Michael. 3 nights a week starting Sunday Jan. 13, right after AMAZING RACE

finale.

Christy Mon, Dec 3, 2007 at 08:55 PM EST

Thank goodness Moonlight will still be on the schedule. It's the only show on CBS I watch and I'm addicted to it. Wish the strike would end so we could get a full season of the show!!

Craig Mon, Dec 3, 2007 at 08:23 PM EST

I can't wait for Big Brother to return. Last season was aweful, so hopefully this season will be a lot better!
