WGA strike: No end in sight

Categories: Strike

Seth_l While people like SNL’s Seth Meyers (pictured) continue to walk the picket lines, talks between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture
and Television Producers resumed this morning for the fourth day in a row. But the quagmire is far from being over. In a letter sent to its members earlier today, the WGA addressed back-channel rumors floating around the industry that "one or
more of the companies are prepared to throw away the spring and fall TV season,
plus features, and prolong the strike," and suggested that if true, it would explain the
AMPTP’s "refusal to put any new proposals, even a bad one, on the table." The
AMPTP responded with an e-mail of its own this afternoon, citing "factual
mistakes" in the WGA letter, like a claim by the writers that they have been at the negotiating table every day, ready to bargain. ”The WGA’s organizers actually spend relatively little time at the
negotiating table," the AMPTP letter claims. "The WGA’s organizers sought a four-day break, and when
they returned, sessions that were supposed to begin at 10:00 a.m. often did not
start until after lunchtime."

Negotiations also hit a snag on Wednesday when, in addition to continuing the discussion over new media, the WGA revisited the issue of having reality TV and animation writers covered under the contract. Given that
the latter issue has long been a non-starter for the AMPTP, introducing it now
likely isn’t helping move matters along.

    Good.
Maybe now people finally start to get the f**king idea that this strike isn’t something to just overlook and assume will come to an end quickly.
Time to face reality, and as far as I’m concerned, I would be nothing less than delighted if this stoppage were to continue well into the summer and involve conflicts between the companies and all three unions.

Give me a break. This whole thing is getting ridiculous. People are going to stop caring about this strike really soon and both parties are coming off as greedy, yes, even the writers. I’m just completely fed up with the whole thing. If for no other reason, the strike should be resolved so that the people who were forced out of work because of the strike (those who work behind the scenes i.e. stagehands etc.) can return to their jobs.

Some of his female fans found him on a millionaire&celebs club “meet rich, com”. He has a personal account there with his handsome pictures, blog…In his friend circle, some other stars can be found there. It’s even said that many hot girls join in his circle. One of girls there said that they often joked, even flirt with each other.
