Those Wildcats are roaring back with a third iteration of the High School Musical franchise — and the entire cast is heading to the big screen for the first time. Filming is set to begin in March, and breakout star Zac Efron is, unsurprisingly, being rewarded more handsomely than the others. According to one source, the rising star has earned quite the pay jump — he’s expected to pocket a salary of more than $3 million. HSM3’s plot points are being kept hush-hush, but we’ve learned that it’s centered around the senior prom.

Leave it to Disney to find a way to take a cash cow and turn it into a goldmine. Won’t have the same number of people watching as the TV movies but should make $50-$80 million in Box Office world wide.

Millions of girls around the world are hopelessly in love with Zac. I’m not saying that that is wrong. However, if your going to fall for some fantasy guy who claims to act in a movie becuase the “script is good”, get a reality check.
A reward is something freely given by someone because a person has earned it. I don’t think this is a reward. I think this is the work of Zac Efron’s agent who knows how to hold Disney over a barrel by holding out on negotiations. Disney doesn’t reward anybody if they can help it.
Honestly, I don’t understand why so many people are bowing down to this (sorry, Efronettes) pathetic franchise. The choreography is mediocre, vocals off, and acting less than superb. I was shocked to hear that some of the leading roles got record deals: what is the music industry coming to these days? Also, I hope all of you who fell in love with Zac Efron and his voice in HSM1 realize that he wasn’t actually singing most of the time. I do not plan on attending the first showing of HSM3, or any showing really.
I personally love zac efron and think hes a great actor who deserves what hes getting. I can’t wait untill the movie comes out and for that matter i can’t wait for the remake of footloose and seventeen to come out either. He also did an amazing job as link in Hairspray!
