Seth Rogen inviting Huey Lewis aboard 'Pineapple Express'?

Seth Rogen is gearing up for his next flick, the much buzzed about weed action-comedy Pineapple Express, and as with his previous projects with his writing partner Evan Goldberg (Superbad) and producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40 Year-Old Virgin), the star is once again taking a hands-on role in post-production. His latest idea? Having Huey Lewis pen and perform the Pineapple Express theme song. In fact, a couple weeks ago, Rogen was spotted having lunch with Lewis at Ford’s Filling Station in Culver City, where the movie’s music was the main topic of discussion. “Seth’s looking for something in the vein of ‘Power of Love,’” says a source, referring to Huey Lewis and the News’s 1985 hit, which was the theme song to Back to the Future. No word yet on whether the collaboration is a done deal, but the film, which costars James Franco as Rogen’s pot dealer and is due to open next August, could be another hilarious late-summer sleeper for the green team.

It would be cool to have Huey Lewis vibes in the film. If only the movie could be rated PG-13 instead of R! (Gotta cut out the cussin’, guys!!)
Anyway, it sounds like a hit to me. Rogen (“KEN” from F&G) is funny & Franco (“DANIEL” from F&G) is funny & FINE! When the edited version hits the TV, I’LL BE THERE!!
