Some shows are already feeling the effects of the writers strike. The Hollywood Insider has learned that the CBS sitcoms Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory, and Rules of Engagement have shut down indefinitely while Fox’s Til Death has gone dark. And it seems all but certain that Fox’s Back To You will shut down after the show’s planned hiatus ends today. More to follow….

And of course it is most likely going to affect great shows like Heroes and Lost as well. This is so stupid. I understand that these writers want what is due to them, and they must make the industry comply with that, but that is why you get a good lawyer and make sure you have a solid contract you are happy with BEFORE signing onto a project. Duh. If you have to fix these problems AFTER being hired then you didn’t do it right in the first place, and now the viewing public gets to suffer.
I agree. The Big Bang Theory got almost 10 million viewers this week. It is becoming a hit. A long shut down could really hurt its momentum. Come on writers and studio/network execs, lets get a deal done already.
hey!! it’s sticks. I know it might effect heroes. The big bang theory has become such a great comedy. Gossip Girl has become a drama. Both which are new and trying to strive their first season. Other shows will be effected. I watch too much television. I really want them to make a deal. The new sitcoms will defiantly be canceled or effected in some way. Please one side, cave in
Jaye, you clearly know nothing about unions and collective bargaining agreements. I’d suggest you read up on them before sharing your ill-formed opinions.
Don’t worry, I am sure my “ill-informed” opinions have no influence over–well–anything, but I wasn’t trying to get into union specifics to begin with. I was pointing out that you should know what you want before applying for a job and make sure you get exactly what it is you want before accepting the job that way the viewing masses don’t have to suffer as result. As you can see I offer no intricate union facts or details, just sharing a viewer’s frustration and a way the Hollywood industry could prevent that frustration in the future.
