Jorja Fox makes it official: She's leaving 'CSI'

Oct 15, 2007, 03:33 PM | by Lynette Rice

Categories: TV Biz

Jorga_l CSI's Jorja Fox — the 39-year-old actress whose tenure on TV's No. 1 drama almost ended in 2004 when she was temporarily fired during tense contract negotiations — has quit the show. She wrapped production on the drama last week. Fox told EW.com exclusively that her decision to give up the role of Sara Sidle had nothing to do with money and everything to with wanting a break from the commitment of a weekly television series.

"There are all these things I want to do. Some are personal. Some are professional. And I really need to do some of them before I get too old," explains Fox. "If I thought the show were on its last legs, I would have tried harder to stay the course. But I feel like its going to be around for a while, so if I don’t want some of those dreams to pass me by. I have to get off the ride for a while."

Fox said CBS had invited her back for an eighth season (her contract expired in May) but she was only interested in signing on for a limited number of episodes. She'll appear in five more this season — her last in mid-November — before saying goodbye to TV's top-rated drama. For more on EW.com's exclusive interview with Fox, check back on Wednesday.

Jorja is the BEST!! She has talent and beauty. She is so unlike many of the other "showy" women on the CSI shows. I hope you will not write in another cleavage revealing, wiggling and high-pitched voice model type.

Cathy C Sun, Apr 20, 2008 at 12:28 PM EST

I love the CSI style of TV. I watch the reality CSI and FBI shows as well. The reason I am writing about this one is to remind everyone that this show is NOT REAL, but it helps us to escape our real and often boring lives and to get intertwined in the lives of other characters that are interesting and make you feel that they are REAL. I too am very sad about Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle)leaving the show. It comes to a sharp halt with what the writers have skillfully been making into a big event (a possible marriage). I do think that we have been let down by the network. Isn't it sad that so few people can make us feel so good when we continue to watch them every week, year after year; and they do not get compensated accordingly. If we could poll the watchers and pay according to the polls, I think that sport stars would not be making as much as they do and the good actors(men & women) would be paid fairer and equally.

Jorja please keep busy and productive. You have a down to earth rare talent that so many of us need to see. I hope you are able to find another rewarding role that we can "lose ourselves in".

i was so sad to see her leave, but i wish her the best and hope she returns to our screens soon

Lara Smith Sun, Apr 13, 2008 at 05:51 PM EST

I am really sad to see Jorja leave the show, i only began watching csi about 2 yrs ago and instantly it became one of my favorite tv shows. I really love Jorja's character and was happy to see her romantically involved with Grisson. Maybe if she reaslises how much we all love her character, she will change her mind and decide to come back to the show!!!

Margaret c> Tue, Apr 8, 2008 at 10:36 AM EST

I will miss Jorja, she played the part of Sara as the script called for, good luck to her. Tuesday April 8th, 2008.

Ann Thu, Mar 13, 2008 at 08:02 PM EST

I really disliked Jorja Fox. I actually got so sick of her I quit watching a couple of years ago. I am looking forward to CSI without her!

Brandon Sun, Mar 9, 2008 at 02:30 PM EST

It sucks that she left, me and my mom are going to complain, maybe shell come back if she knows how much we mis her and if she wants to come back she will if the CSI people let her, when i first seen the episode when she got kidnapped i knew she was gonna live my dad thought she was gonna die!!! But it sucks that she left

Ashley & Elizabeth Sat, Mar 8, 2008 at 09:36 PM EST

We will REALLY, REALLY miss Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle). My daughter and I LOVE CSI; Sara is our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE character!!! The whole cast is terrific, but Sara is the fave! I have the most profound respect for her in making the decision to enjoy her life and not being commited to a weekly series, but my gosh we will miss her character. I hope it doesn't completely ruin it. There is this thing of perfect balance in characters ... it's what makes a show work. That perfect balance has been disrupted. What a shame that CBS wouldn't split the difference and let this loved character do occasional appearances. Television executives are notorious for shooting themselves in the foot by being stubborn and not negotiating amicable solutions to benefit both parties. Grissom's character is going to be lost without his true love there... AND CSI FANS ARE GOING TO BE LOST WITHOUT SARA!!!!

WE WISH YOU THE VERY BEST, JORJA FOX!!!

Debi Fri, Mar 7, 2008 at 12:59 AM EST

Yea!!! Goodbye! I was, as was, So Very Many of my friends, are (I am sorry to say for her sake) so excited to see her go! I was Well Overdue! Her character was overdone!!! Thank You!

Laura Thu, Mar 6, 2008 at 09:12 PM EST

I have been 'in transit' since November and just found out. This SO sucks. She gave the show dimension and soul. She is phenominal. It was shocking to go to the website and not see her in the cast. Once in a perm home with TV reception, I sure hope there is a new program I can look forward to like I did CSI. We were lucky to have her for so long.

Dyna Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 02:54 PM EST

Jorja did not have what it takes to do her work, she complained all the time a real pain in the a**, Glad to see her leave. I noticed that her face has aged alot she looks sad all the time, she was all wrong for Gill
he did not need a complaining sad stalking woman in his life he has the guts to do a good job with out Sara she just made his work harder always questioning hes judgement won't miss her.

Amy Sat, Mar 1, 2008 at 08:48 PM EST

I am really sorry that she is leaving. She was my favorite charater in C.S.I. and I like that show so much that I can't stop watching it and everytime I see her role-playing it reminds me of my pre-ap chemistry teacher. Also if you are reading this well I just like to say if I don't become a chemistry teacher I will enter forensic investigations stuff. I thought it was so amazing and I would understand why your leaving but just to let you know that I still will remember you in life. Especially in college starting next year after I graduate high school in June of 2009. Well good luck !!!!! I will miss you.

Ok , First of all , Id like to say that "GO Lady Heather" I love u ! you are totally right about Jorja Fox / Satan being out . Her character had this thing about her , that she has to stalk her supervisor , get a DUI , and then beg him until he goes insane and finally gives into her whining and complaining . He wouldn't even put them on a case together ! Yeah Yeah Yeah i know , "IT WAS ONLY BECAUSE THEY WERE IN A RELATIONSHIP AND THEY HADTO COVER " Bull crap , THAT IS THE PERFECT COVER ! Like Gil Grissom said in an episode "MAYBE THEY WERE SUFOCATING EACH OTHER AND HE NEEDED SOME ROOM" he stated that directly to Sara . And Im personally a Grillows fan so yeah , Glad Jorja's gone . Cant miss her when I didn't even care .

abbynash Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 12:37 PM EST

Sad news I loved the sara/grissom romance as it was so well done .Best of Luck to Jorja she will be missed as I though she was the best of the female stars.

Dyna Sat, Feb 2, 2008 at 08:30 PM EST

she made a very stupid mistake.

chevy3958 Sun, Jan 6, 2008 at 11:57 PM EST

I was really upset watching the last episode. Sara & Grissom made a good pair. I thought the marriage proposal was a great idea. Good luck Sara, hope you do all the things you want to.

I really enjoyed Jorga FOxx VERY much. She added ALOT to thr show, which I watch faithfully and the reruns. If (Sara's) comments are true, for why she left, I sincerely wish her the very very best. She is worth it. If in time, after a "breather" (as we all need at times) she should like to return I hope she will not be denied. I think the casting has been good with the team. She would be very hard to replace. P.S. Please don't start writing wild random, freaky scripts. changes are difficult.... now all of a sudden warrick is a drug addict? Also "Nick looks MUCH handsomer with shorter hair, he has a nice stong expressive face. Also Eric is really blossoming. I have never written in about ANY television program. I like Grissom's mellow "zen" type sayings. He is a good "grounding" to the show and I like the coroner. How come the Miami show, which I seldom watch gets all the "fancy" photography, split screen clips etc. Seems like its trying to be more high tech. What ever,I like CSI,best.

Marilyn Wed, Dec 12, 2007 at 07:23 PM EST

JOrga will be missed but I noticed she looked a little thicker through the middle. Is she or isn't she?
Good luck in your future ventures.

bookworm Fri, Dec 7, 2007 at 02:32 PM EST

I have watched the last 2 episodes without Jorja and the show seems incomplete somehow. I enjoyed watching her on the show. In my estimation she is missed. Last night's show was not one of the best.

JessiMeg Thu, Dec 6, 2007 at 08:36 PM EST

NO!!!!!!!!!!! She can't have left the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She and Grism just got engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How sad!!!!!! Well CSI's no fun anymore. =[

Thomas Thu, Dec 6, 2007 at 10:32 AM EST

I'm having a problem with Sara leaving after accepting Gil's proposal! The writers MUST have known Jorja was leaving the show... why even bring up the marriage thing? The way she left (consternation over her role as CSI agent vs personal commitments) was as lame an episode I've ever seen. Shouldn't Gil at least say that the wedding is off until Sara gets her head on right? I'm not much of a writer, but I think I could have done a better job than the ones who've done this.

Tue, Dec 4, 2007 at 10:42 PM EST

I think she is leaving because she is pregnant.

I love Jorja. I know everyone has different tastes, but I am quite surprised by the number of anti-Jorja comments here. I love Jorja and will miss her terribly.

katty Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 12:31 PM EST

CSI without it there will be the same, have been 7 seasons, returns soon Jorja

katty Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 12:28 PM EST

I hope that in future Jorja return to CSI, it is not the same without it, and all we continued her relationship with Grissom.

lynn Mon, Nov 26, 2007 at 04:53 PM EST

I hate to see her go but if there are things she needs to do then I totally understand. I'll miss her dearly.
She is a great actor and hope she'll continue in TV.

CBS, please!!! I suffered through Sara's near demise, then Grissom proposed, and NOW you are going to let Jorja Fox leave??? Sara is my favorite character on the show. No Sara, no CSI. That's how it is.

RaptureInCrimson Sun, Nov 18, 2007 at 10:44 PM EST

Did anyone else think that she looked a little pregnant in the last episode??

And to all those who think she made the show CSI, you are lame.... Yeah she's a good actress, but as long as Grissom is there, there will be CSI....

I won't miss Sara at all, she was my least fave character...boring.
Pairing her with Grissom was a big mistake. Good luck to Jorja in whatever she undertakes.

I am sorry to see Sara leave,I was looking forward to the Sara/Gil romance
that I have been holding my breath for.
The person that should leave is Catherine. The only thing going for her is her skinny body, and tight shirts.

Tim Sun, Nov 11, 2007 at 11:04 AM EST

As long as they don't kill her off, and just let her leave because she's burned out on the job, it's all good. We can be left thinking Sarah and Grissom are still together and she's free to return to the show in the future. Sarah has been one of the best characters on the best of all the CSI shows and I'd hate to think the writers will go all "CSI:Miami" and do something way over-the-top to facilitate her departure.

Jimmy Z Sat, Nov 10, 2007 at 10:54 AM EST

Excellent. Can't stand her.

longtimeCSIviewer Fri, Nov 9, 2007 at 01:54 PM EST

Think Sara's limited appearances this season are leading up to the same departure as she says she needs, leaving to do other things. It's a bad decision not to keep her character and will take away from the heart and soul of the teamwork of the show. This show is diminishing the lines for all the female characters and it could lead to its demise even if the intern character is brought in to fill the female quota. It definitely will not be the same and I'd rather see her relationship with Grissom end than her character. I wish her the best in her future.

Janet Peters Fri, Nov 9, 2007 at 12:00 AM EST

Sara was a human being as well as a CSI, a complete character. Catherine just wears revealing clothes and doesn't seem to have a personality. Sara didn't need to show cleavage because she came across as a real person rather than a CSI with no other life beyond her job.

Megan Tue, Nov 6, 2007 at 02:23 PM EST

I really do not want Sara to leave the show she is a great actress and she is the best one. Why would she leave after she said that she would marry grissom. I mean it makes no sense. well if she leaves then the show will be dead and I will never watct the show again.

Esmiralda Mon, Nov 5, 2007 at 01:50 PM EST

She is one of the best actresses in the show. Down to earth. More European like above everything *Spoken like a real dutch girl*. I agree she will be missed in the show. Hell I watch it for her.
Good luck Jorja with what you want to pursuit next. I'm sure it will be grand and your fans will follow you.

susie Tue, Oct 30, 2007 at 06:18 PM EST

i just watched the episode again where sara told catherine about sex appeal vs hard work, i like the earthiness of the character sara, we have enough female actresses working "with their boobs or big lips" instead of just plain talent. and jorga has an "ivory girl" thing about her that makes her much more attractive than catherine.

Tue, Oct 30, 2007 at 11:19 AM EST

I'm sure the ratings will go up after this one. Get a good actress next time, please.....

Yeppers Tue, Oct 30, 2007 at 11:15 AM EST

Thank You, thank you, thank you. Finally she is gone. This show is so great and I think it will be just fine without her. I have nothing personal against her, but hate the character. Bring in another female and it will be much better.

Sadness and all, it seems to me that it's going to turn out another Shelly Long after Cheers: down and out.

Barb C Thu, Oct 25, 2007 at 12:58 PM EST

love the gsr storyline, urge writers to continue letting fans believe she is still around. hoping for a wedding, do not replace sara or gill love interest..it will always be him and sara together 4ever. will lose interest if they don't continue their relationship. JORJA FOX YOU ARE CSI!

Nikki Tue, Oct 23, 2007 at 02:11 PM EST

Im devastated that Jorja is leaving the show...i for one wont be watching CSI anymore, i only watched for the Sara-Grissom storyline, and even though CSI is still a great show, i just feel like i cant get as excited about it anymore...JORJA PLEASE COME BACK, the show needs you..

David Wm Metcalf Sun, Oct 21, 2007 at 01:34 PM EST

I feel that Jorga Fox, like many of us, is a bit of a rebel and will continue at being the best she can be and more. C.S.I. will continue, being the best crime scene show on any network and I wish the best for Jorga, at anything she does. My best and continued support, to Jorga.
David Wm.

chippy Thu, Oct 18, 2007 at 02:29 PM EST

I think the Sara character on CSI is a very interesting and complex one. Jorja Fox played her so well. She is a talented young actress and will probably have no difficulty whatsoever with any future career endeavours.

Sheila K. Thu, Oct 18, 2007 at 01:03 PM EST

This still is the fault of CBS.
If they hadnt have made her life miserable over the years, she would have stuck around until the end of this season for sure.
I guess they will finally understand
when their ratings drop.

Chris Mitchell Thu, Oct 18, 2007 at 11:07 AM EST

It's about time!

BigG Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 10:58 PM EST

You dont have to lie for CBS Jorja! We know the truth, I plan to boycott that network now. They have shown their true colors.

From Bondi Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 09:45 PM EST

I would like to think Jorja will come back one day to guest star. We will miss you JF! You acted the role of Sara Sidle superbly. I too, don't take the blame completely off CBS, I am sure all those years of battling with them made you weary. I hear they are sexist and you will be better without them.

Karri Hornbaker Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 08:51 PM EST

I am so bummed. The just won't be the same without Jorja Fox aka. Sara Sidle. I hope I will be able to continue to watch the show. I have been a die hard fan since the beginning. I was totally for the love match between her and Grissom. I hope she finds everything she is looking for. Jorja you will be truly missed. God Bless

MARA Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 04:10 PM EST

I RESPECT HER DECISION AND WISH HER THE BEST OF LUCK. HOPEFULLY SHE WILL FIND WHAT SHE IS LOOKING FOR. MAYBE ONE DAY SHE'LL COME BACK.

Darbie Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 01:49 PM EST

After reading her official interview I only wish her the best. Hope it all works out. However, I will always blame CBS. If they had have offered her the kind of money she deserves to make, I dont think she would have left like this and before a season ends.

SJE Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 12:02 PM EST

Sara was a BELIEVABLE woman in the series. I love the spinoffs, but I just can't BELIEVE Emily Proctor in the Miami version. Sara WAS quirky, and that was her charm ... she's the girl all of us have known at one time or another ... extremely smart, lonely, beautiful, and hard to figure out. Sara's character was deliberately kept looking the way she is to counterbalance the over-the-top look Marg Helgenberger has. Jorja Fox is really a very beautiful woman if you just see her other photos. I have NO idea she was 39!
Her character will be missed, and I HOPE they don;t keep the idiotic new woman character in CSI ... she was simply annoying!

Barbara McMillan Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 09:57 AM EST

It's sad, really sad to see her leave. I wish her well in her future undertakings. We will miss her, however I hope she gets invited to appear in future series. She has been the most fasinating character on CSI, besides Grissom of couse.

grannyg Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 09:04 AM EST

It seems that CBS thinks it is necessary to lose an important character in the name of contract crapemola. Next thing ya know, Grissom will go looking for Sara and depart, too. Get a grip...it is the best CSI by far...altho the spin-offs are good enough to tune in occasionally. Sara will be missed and leave a large void in that storyline.

heidi Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 08:03 AM EST

CSI without Jorja will not be the same but CSI will still remain mt favorite.
I hope Sara is not killed off so that Jorja does have the ability to return.

Narek Pesarian Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 05:06 AM EST

CSI was filming at Cal State Northridge on October 4th..maybe that was her last CSI.

peggy Norman Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 03:53 AM EST

I cant believe that you all are letting go one of the most watched person on CSI Jorja Fox just when things were getting really hot for her. I would love to see her have a mate in the show. It wont be the same without her. For the othe girl bla bla/ Fox kept it real and made things real and interesting. PLEASE try to keep her on and beg her to stay. If not then what is the use of watching the show.

Craig Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 01:46 AM EST

NO JORJA = NO CSI! 'nuff said.

Pebbles Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 01:44 AM EST

I am among those who support her. Jorja Fox is a class act all the way.

Christy Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 01:43 AM EST

The out-pouring of love is just that. Love for Jorja Fox. It amazes me when pple say "get a life". We all probably have very productive lives (considering we are among those fortunate enough to have a computer, or have access to one, be able to see, and write etc etc). Having a life has nothing to do with supporting Jorja Fox. I, as a fan want it to be known she will be missed, CSI just wont hold the charm it has for me over the years without her gone. I blame CBS for this as well as some others do. If she had have got her money that she so deserved she would have stayed, Im sure. You are a talented actress Jorja and hope you are happier now you dont have to put up with the crap from CBS. We support you wherever you go!

So hope fully you will deside to stay.

It's about time. She is the worst character on the show. Her character on ER was horrible as well. It's a breath of fresh air to have her gone. Now they can get back to showcasing the mind of Grissom again! Hooray! I will not be lighting a candle at the vigils I am sure will pop up on the Internets. Sorry Sara Sidle bloggers. Fools...just let it go. It's only a TV show....get a life...

Jorja,Jorja
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Jorja on my mind

I'm say Jorja
Jorja
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

I said Jorja,
Ooh Jorja, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps jorja on my mind

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

Jorja,
Jorja,
No peace, no peace I find
Just this old, sweet song
Keeps Jorja on my mind

I said just an old sweet song,
Keeps Georgia on my mind

CSISleuth Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:51 PM EST

I think the reporters of EW have been hanging out with that twit Michael Ausiello from tv guide for too long. I dont think Jorja would admit this in this way. Even if she does leave, I know there will be a proper statement from her from a reliable source. We all love you Jorja, there just wont be a good CSI worth watching without you. I'm sad to hear this news but now happy to know among others CBS has just lost thousands of viewers. They deserve it.

sweetcsilover37 Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:36 PM EST

DONT LEAVE JORJA FOX WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!

grissom&&sara Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:33 PM EST

i support sara's decision! but i am dissapointed becuase i dont want her to leave the show. SHE IS MY FAVORITE character.&& GRISSOM needs her on the show. i wannt them together. && if cbs replaces her with some skank then i will be so madd! and never watch the show. SHE is the greatest talented woman in the show. JORJA FOX DONT LEAVE THE SHOW!! WE LOVE YOU! && with that statement BILLIONS of PEOPLE WOULD SAY THE SAME THING!!

Just a 56 year old Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:30 PM EST

I loved the slow, blossoming love relationship between Sara and Grissom. I will never forget the episode when Grissom is on the bed, and you see these legs coming out of the bathroom, and you hold your breath. Is it Lady Heather ? is it Marge H. ? is it the lady cop ? Is it a one night stand ? Is it a n ew character ?When it turned out to be Sara, I about fell off my chair. The writing has been terrific concerning their love affair. I am going to miss those little complex face movements, subtle body movements and just everything about these two characters. Sara has made Grissom's life better, and it has been fun to watch him open up, and have something in his life besides work. Loved it....love Grissom, love Sara, but unfortunatly nothing lasts forever. Thanks for a wonderful relationship written into your show. Thanks for the memories.

Ruth Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:29 PM EST

She should talk to David C. from CSI:MIAMI about how a career goes south. He knows he is blessed for a "second chance" With the exception of George Clooney, how many actors have left a series and we don't see them again until the Nick at Night awards or a "Where are they now?" show. I also wonder how many actors out there would love to be on a television show with longevity of CSI. Jorja, you are not being a team player or thinking of your fans, and for that I am sad for you.

Fish Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:16 PM EST

Good she is a drunk and a lousy actress. Hit the road

Penguin Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:09 PM EST

What an amazing actress. Bought so much to this show as well as to the relationship with Grissom. She has portrayed this Sara character so well, it will be hard to watch without her on CSI. It should come to a close after this season. Because without Sara Sidle there isn't truly a CSI. I hope it goes down into the gutter with the CBS Entertainment Nina T and Les M.

twinned Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:06 PM EST

Now that Jorja is leaving there really is no CSI.

JP Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:58 PM EST

I'm tired of the fired/unfired/contract was signed didn't arrive on time/bs.

CSI will go on and hopefully go back to better writing and get away from the very reasons I wanted to ditch this show.

I want the old Grissom back!

Needle39 Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:49 PM EST

It isn't OFFICIAl! You're Entertainment Weekly for goodness sake! I could be reading the Enquirer.

jl Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:42 PM EST

Some of you need to watch a little less television and study your English textbooks a little more. Yikes.

linda r Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:15 PM EST

Ive always been a big fan of Jorja Fox and CSI for seven years was just great but now I wont be a watcher anymore, after her last episode I will stop watching CSI. I hope the show comes to an end and ratings go well down.

CSIRULEZ Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:13 PM EST

You deserve to be treated better jorja. It is CBS's loss. They are now well known for their reputation as being A**HOLE*S! We, viewers, have long memories.

Gwen Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:11 PM EST

Ahhh, well. I hope she doesn't think she can keep going back and forth like this.

Cindy Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:01 PM EST

I won't miss her at all. She's about the most boring character of all time.

Jason Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 08:47 PM EST

I am sorry to hear that she is not going to be in it anymore, but why would they want to say this now since the next episode is not until this thursday. This Just ruins the darn show. Thanks For whoever decide to put this on the web. Thanks alot!!!!!!

JorjaFan32 Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 08:06 PM EST

Don't leave Jorja! You can't Leave! We all love you too much!

BeHeard Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:47 PM EST

I know I speak for thousands when I say when Jorja Fox walks away from CBS and CSI so do we. Her fans will follow her away from CBS and onto greener pastures with networks that treat their actors with respect.

LA - UK Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:44 PM EST

I hated the pilot episode of CSI, but I gave it a second chance and tuned in for the second episode, and in walked Sara Sidle, all these years later I have no qualms about leaving the show when Jorja does.
There was a reason why she was rehired in 04, and the reason still stands today. Jorja and her character has a large fanbase, one that will follow her away from CSI and CBS.

mishy Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:41 PM EST

I am glad to see her go. Her character was annoying and I found the Sara/Grisom story line inplausable

Danielle Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:31 PM EST

Hate to see you go as Sara, Jorja, but I would loooove to see you guest star on Heroes! Wish you the best!

SUE Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:29 PM EST

I AM SORRY TO SEE HER GO, I ENJOYED WATCHING HER & GRISSOM'S RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPE ON THE SHOW .THEIR PERFORMANCES KEPT YOU AS A DEVOTED VIEWER WONDERING FROM WEEK TO WEEK WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT :)

beatrice Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:28 PM EST

Jorja fans keep saying that CBS will see how bad this is when their ratings start to drop in November. HEY! Their ratings have dropped EVERY WEEK so far this season. I like Jorja, but hate GSR. So, I'm glad to see her go. Maybe we can now get back to the forensics show CSI once was.

KC Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:21 PM EST

How very, very sad. I hope she left of her own accord. This article sounds like network spin.

Professor Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:01 PM EST

CSI without Jorja just aint right.

Nina NY Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:00 PM EST

Please bring Jorja Fox back when CSI comes to a close CBS- it just wont be the same without all of them being together. LONG LIVE GSR. Even with Jorja leaving GSR will live on.

Tara Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:59 PM EST

Like millions around the world, I will be sad to see her go. I hope they can make her an offer in the future that she can't refuse.

Grissomsgirl Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:58 PM EST

Grissom and Sara are such a perfect match..They have become probably the most watched couple on television. Even the writers of the CSI show agree that it is a great storyline. They showed that age, pasts and conflicts does not carve our futures. What a great ficitonal pair these two were. Hope she gets a happy farewell from CSI. I'll miss that storyline.

Jayson Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:56 PM EST

Jorja Fox is going to be missed from my favorite show CSI. I am not sure whether I will continue to watch but hope that she continues to be successful in the future.

Patricia Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:55 PM EST

I watch CSI because it's the BEST one on T.V. Love ALL the characters. Could never figure out why Sara & Grissom were put together as a love interest. That was sooo not a match. I really won't miss JF leaving. But I do wish her good luck in whatever her persuits are.

Buddy Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:36 PM EST

Oh say it isnt so!

kate Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:17 PM EST

I'm so upset. She's my favorite character on that show, and I love where they are going with Grissom and Sara.

patti Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:59 PM EST

I never DID feel any "chemistry" between Gil and Sara -- it was almost like it was "forced"....Now I DID feel ALOT of electricity between Gil and Lady Heather on the episode "Lady Heather's Box". He DID spend the night with her that night, so maybe they can resurrect that relationship....You could just feel the passion smoldering beneath the surface between the 2 of them... Besides, Sara's character was nothing but a cold, carboard, workaholic anorexic narcissist....JMHO

csifanatic Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:47 PM EST

I hope this is not real. If Jorja leaves please bring her back at a later date. She is such a popular star on the show.

NoDoubt Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:45 PM EST

I have no doubt that Jorja Fox will indeed return. CBS is obviously smart and will need her to keep the ratings up. She will be back i am sure in guest appearances and Grissom and Sara will have their happy ending. I have no doubt of that.

Carrie Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:40 PM EST

they'll bring her back for sweeps... you just wait and see

Madeline Joy in Dallas Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:40 PM EST

I wish for this not to be true. No sara is going to be very boring show.

Clayton Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:38 PM EST

CSI will just be lame without Jorja Fox.

lily Japan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:38 PM EST

Don't let Jorja go!

Buzz Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:37 PM EST

GOOD LUCK JORJA! I LOVED WATCHING YOU ON CSI. NOW I CAN GO TO GREYS ANATOMY NOT FEELING GUILTY.

Beatrice Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:36 PM EST

Sara will always have Grissom's heart and you Jorja Fox, will always have ours. You are beautiful, talented and just a joy to watch. CSI is a great show but I cant help thinking it will lose some of its appeal now. Good luck.

J Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:34 PM EST

AS the saying goes "it ain't over until the fat lady sings"

Go Lady Heather! Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:31 PM EST

First off Kizzez DON"T call me sweetie!
Second I watch the show all the time and I still favor for a Lady Heather-Grissom love match. Like it or not. And I never said or stated there wasn't a "GSR" thing going on. I just don't think it was a good storyline for the show.
Third... Sara is OUT!!!
Make sure you don't pee on yourself laughing so hard.

Debbie Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:26 PM EST

You just have to look all over the internet to see how popular Jorja is. There are hundreds of videos just on you tube dedicated to this class act. I will miss you on CSI Jorja. Cannot watch it anymore now.

TRUTH Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:15 PM EST

We know this is CBS way of saying stop sending us letters. Sorry but youve encouraged us to just send out twenty thousand more.

BlisteringHeat Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:04 PM EST

You will do GREAT whatever you do Jorja Fox. A very talented actress and look forward to seeing what you do next.

Zen Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:03 PM EST

If this is your decision, good luck. I feel it was really CBS who made up their mind when they wouldnt pay you what you are worth.
I hope to see you win an OSCAR one day.
Youre the best!

MandM Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:02 PM EST

Good Luck Jorja! We wish you only the best in your future endeavors. This will hit the show hard, and lets hope it ends after this season. CSI is not CSI without you.

Kizzez Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:00 PM EST

It makes me laugh to think about what show these people are watching when they say GO Lady Heather....um I think it's pretty obvious he's with sara sweetie. Maybe you should go watch the episodes again and follow along properly this time.
Jorja Fox You are just great!
You did an awesome job on CSI!
And we love you just as much as all your co-stars do.
Good luck! God Bless!

Twizzle Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:58 PM EST

YES ITS TRUE CBS does really think more of their male actors than female actors. But us fans, know Jorja Fox will be better off without that network full of eggheads. You go girl!

Go Lady Heather! Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:53 PM EST

Oh please........... People watched CSI becasue they wanted to see blood and guts spewed everywhere not for a romance novel! If a "relationship" develops in the show, which usually does, then that is a bonus. But to have someone as menial Sara (no offense Jorja but your character was a snooze, fault of the writers)in a "loving" relationship is pushing the fantasy of tv drama.
Good Luck Jorja Fox and i hope you have a better character to play. I will not lose any tears or sleep over the charater's (about time) departure. There are millions of other people who can watch if the "Saving Sara" club don't. Maybe you all can now watch I LOVE NEW YORK 2? ;)

BoldJoe Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:39 PM EST

Luv ya Jorja! Youre beautiful and always will be!

Alora Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:38 PM EST

Jorjs Fox was the only reason I watched CSI, she had such a complex character to play. I won't be watching now. It seems pointless with her gone.

Tina K. Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:35 PM EST

What has made CSI the hit it has become on tv is partially due to the Grissom/Sara storyline. They are perfect for eachother and have the same intellect and personalities that mesh so well together. Jorja Fox has given us fans years of happy memories, and smiles and has played this character with such grace. It will be a sad day when it is her final episode. CSI is about crime yes but did 25 million people tune in for the premiere for crime? NO, they tuned in for the "personal aspect" of Sara Sidle. I hope CSI ends after season 8, it just will not be the same.

CYG Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:32 PM EST

LET"S BE REAL...Grissom should be with Lady Heather. She is sooooooo complex and Grissom needs someone that complex to stay interested. He would have someone who shares in some of the same intelect. Lady Heather is just a greater calibur of woman for Grissom. You all know he would love to analyze her piece by piece.(I mean pick her brain, don't be crude)Sara was too monotone in her lifestyle. All she had were the fantasies of Grissom and had that gosh awful frown like a spoiled brat who didn't get her way. Now I do agree she did bring to the table a character that didn't have to resort to clevage and tight clothes to be on a team like this. That is something we don't see often and is refreshing, but let's get all our heads out of this "GSR" cloud and realize the characters would not have lasted or the show would not have sustained if Grissom/Sara were a couple. As many have stated this is about crime scene scenarios not the Love Boat. Score 0 for Sara-Score 10 million for Lady Heather!

Gretchen Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:26 PM EST

Good luck to Jorja Fox. After seven wonderful years youve shown to be an inspiration to so many. I will miss your character Sara.

PATRICIA Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:26 PM EST

No JORJA = NO SARA = NO CSI

Delilah Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:25 PM EST

Jorja Fox - portrays Sara so beautifully. I admire you Ms. Fox and you are gorgeous, talented and a role model for women everywhere for not putting up with CBS crap. Kudos to you!

Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:15 PM EST

get ready to never see or hear anything from jorja fox again. another case of a person on a highly successful composite cast tv show thinking they can hit the big time, only to leave the show and realize that there's nothing out there for them and they should've stayed (rob lowe leaving west wing for example).

RT Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:10 PM EST

Great News, she is and always was right from her old ER days a terrible actor. Also one of the ugliest women on TV. Goodbye and please don't bring her back. Now I can enjoy the show again.

Carmen Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 03:41 PM EST

I believe this has all stemmed from contract disputes because CBS doesnt play fair with their actors. I hope you go onto do better things Jorja and show CBS what they lost when they lost you.

Talkaboutme Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 03:40 PM EST

I love Jorja Fox and wish her only the best. It will be sad to see her go and I don't think CSi will be the same without her.

NOJOYLEFT Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 03:39 PM EST

What a great character sara sidle was. I know the fans outweigh the negative people on here who have nothing better to do. I support Jorja Fox and relish in knowing she is a role model to many thousands of people and she shows great class and integrity. Good luck Jorja!

JD Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:40 PM EST

Maybe Jorja can steal the Sara character (under a new name and background) and take her sulky butt over to Grey's Anatomy with all the other "strong" female characters whose lives seem to revolve around fighting over/sulking about/screwing men. Maybe the guy she is pining over could be named "Bil"?

Carrie Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:23 PM EST

It sucks JF is leaving totally (if this is true) but, if that is what it took to end the awful GSR, I'm all for it.

So the next big question is, how do they write Sara off the show? Did they let her live through the Mini Killer just to have her die some other way? Does she leave Gil at the altar? It'll be interesting.

Bryan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:22 PM EST

Not shocked, heard this was coming down the road last May.Interesting, watch the credits at the beginning. The season premiere episode did not have Louise Lombard in the opening credits, but the second show of the season did have her there. The same goes with Wallace Langham, but the other way around. There is way more to this, they are just keeping it hush-hush. This show will be gone in 2 years, if not before. It depends on Petersen's contract. I just hope it does not drone on like ER!

KD Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:20 PM EST

It's about time.
Can't stand her or the whole her and Gil storyline.

Jtbwriter Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:01 PM EST

I support Jorja in whatever projects she chooses to do next...and contrary to the "Sara haters"...she brought humanity to CSI....that will be missed. I also choose to have faith that "Sara" isn't gone for good-notice the "for a while"! Hopefully before CSI goes to the big recycle bin ...we get to see Grissom and Sara together again!

Libby Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 01:52 PM EST

It may just be a TV show but I think a lot of fans here who adore Jorja Fox are well aware of her rough treatment by CBS over the years. Good luck to you Jorja, if this is really what you want to do.

Mary Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 01:29 PM EST

I am glad she is going. Sara was annoying to the max. Poor Grissom being brainwashed into this affair. Hope he gets some great consolation from somebody, preferably Lady Heather.

Bye bye, Sara sweetie! It's so strange that some people think you are the whole show while many more won't notice you're gone for a while.

aussieforgood Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 01:29 PM EST

I *know* that this wasn't Jorja's decision and CBS made her make this statement. They're just too cheap to give her the raise she deserves.

Jorja I wish you the best of luck in your career and CBS you just made the biggest mistake ever letting her go.

I don't think I want to watch CSI go downhill.

tha plow Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 01:22 PM EST

good riddance! i hate sarah!

Lisa C Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:59 PM EST

It's about time - wish they had of kept her fired back in 2004 - she is one of the most annoying character ever and I certainly won't miss her.

Susan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:56 PM EST

I second all the positive comments about Jorja and Sara. Sara was a role model as someone who used her brains to get where she was. I hope the door is left open for her to return in a recurring fashion. As a writer I understand all about pursuing dreams and support you 100% Jorja. You will be missed and once you are gone I will not be watching CSI anymore. As for the anti Jorja/Sara people. Shame on you. Can't you just state your opinion without resorting to such unpleasant language and personal attacks on the actress. Good luck Jorja. May your future see you reach new heights and here's hoping to see you again on CSI in a recurring role.

Barbara Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:33 PM EST

I can't stand JF's character! She's incredibly annoying and I'm so happy the show will have some new blood. Good riddance!

Disheartened CSIfan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:19 PM EST

I'll be sad to see her go as I really like her character but after 8 years on one show I can see why she'd want leave.

Annette Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 11:59 AM EST

Why didn't they just let her die in the desert then if she isn't coming back. 25 million viewers will now be so disppointed that she is actually leaving. The writer's better come up with the good script to satisfy the die hard fans for Grissom and Sara to get married.

Barb C Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 11:54 AM EST

It is a sad day indeed but I hope the writer's will keep the door open for her return. I know that all good things must come to an end. The writers must continue on with their relationship and hopefully a wedding is in the works. Then she can work at another city and fans can be made to believe it is a long distance marriage.

groovy chick Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 11:32 AM EST

What a bummer...really liked her character and it was just getting exciting with her relationship w/Grissom...like I said "Bummer"!

shaneo6930 Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 11:21 AM EST

I'm so sad! I don't know if I'll still watch the show. I'm just glad she's leaving on her own, and not on the insistance of studio executives. I'm glad that all of the campaigns worked to let Jorja know that she will always have a lot of fans out there.

Erin Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 11:12 AM EST

I couldn't be more excited to see that annoying broad off this wonderful show. Sara Sidle made me feel suicidal, and I think there is no mistake in the similarities between the two. Grissom's character was way too good for her, and when they became involved, I almost threw up in my mouth a little bit. Goodbye & GOOD riddance!!!!

Susan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 10:40 AM EST

As a viewer in the UK we still have time to adjust to Jorja not being there but I would like to just wish Jorja all the best and to say that I will follow her whatever she does. Remember to keep smiling.

Haven't cared for her since the beginning of the show. Thought we were rid of her in '04, but was disappointed when she was "un-fired".

Dana Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:58 AM EST

Very sad, I wonder if the reasons they are giving are true or if they didn't want to extend her contract?

Lu Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:49 AM EST

Devastated? Never watch CBS again? For crying out loud, people -- it's a TV show! Get a grip!

Suzie Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 09:40 AM EST

Yes, McLean Stevenson and Gary Burghoff left M*A*S*H to pursue their other interests and do other things. Anyone else remember "Hello Larry"> Thought so. She's stupid to leave a top rated show in its prime. See ya as a guest star on Law & Order SVU, or perhaps a Love Boat revival!

Stacey Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 08:42 AM EST

I like the character and would hope that the actress will be replaced. But that won't happen because the rule seems to be the actress owns the part. That's sad.

CSI never will be the same after this!

bl Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 08:22 AM EST

I love Jorja on CSI--she is a deep and rich character--she just isn't what you'd expect her to be all of the time. She is both positive and negative/strong and weak. Just like Gris. That's what makes them sucha great couple--after all, they've been in love for 9 years, according to Griss. :-) I will miss her and can only imagine that this is the beginning of the end for the CSI show in general.

so Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:47 AM EST

Not a big loss as far as I'm concerned. Would have been much more upset had Willows left. Sara's character has always been "cold" as far as I'm concerned and I've never warmed up to any romance between her and Grissom. I do wish JF the best with her next pursuit.

Ann Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 07:06 AM EST

Jorga Fox is leaving CSI? YEAH!!!!! It's about time!! Her character is so annoying and she's such a whiner! She clashes with all the other members of the team and her romance with Grissom is unbelievable. Can't wait for November!

Christine Houareau Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:48 AM EST

It is sad she is leaving it would have made the show more realistic this is what happens in real life you might fall in love with the guy you work with it's a pitty. But wish her all the best she is great and hope that she gets to do all these things she has planned in her life i mean she can't simply work. Jorja if you read this do know that i come from an island far from you and where it is difficult for us to get to see you in real life but do know you are in our hearts. All the best.

Michelle Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 06:38 AM EST

All i can say is :( :( :( :( :( here me goin to buy the whole series but she not in it no more the CSI no good with the girl :( totally gutted!!

James Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 05:55 AM EST

I can't believe all the outpouring of affection for this character. She's always been a quirky, marginal character to me, way down the totem pole of characters on CSI. Marg Helgenberger is far hotter and richer as a female character, and the male leads are all more interesting. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to pair her with Grissom, after she pretty much stalked him for the first several seasons, coming on to him so strongly it was weird, and he wisely rejected her for a while. Either way, CSI remains one of my favorite shows. I'd like to see more of Louise Lombard -- now she is hot and interesting, in a way the young Sara doesn't have a clue about.

blueneverland Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 04:20 AM EST

It is a sad news that she is leaving the show, but as she said, she wants to do other things before she gets too old and that is reasonable. I wish her all the best and I hope she will be a recurring roll sometimes. She is a very talented actress who does a lot of good things. Thank-you for bring me Sara sidle, my favourite character, someone I could learn from.

fi fi Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 03:37 AM EST

I cant believe this is happening. how can she just leave? i love sara. ilove gsr. is this the end of csi?
is for me, i refuse to watch without any gsr. its not fair. does anyone feel my pain?

mala Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 03:20 AM EST

I will miss and still trying on herpes dating site http://herpesmates.com. As you can see, it is so hard to find a match off line. god bless

KC Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 03:04 AM EST

I hate to see Jorja Fox leave "CSI" but,if she wants to do other things in her life, then I wish her well. The show will go on.Remember when William Peterson took a few weeks off to do that play? The show still went on without him.None of the characters can be replaced because each of them has their own personality but it will be interesting to what new character they bring in.I will continue to watch "CSI".

Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:46 AM EST

Grissom is too professional to have a relationship with someone he works with. And he sure wouldn't have one with someone so immature and uninteresting. I'd rather see him with Lady Heather.

Katarina from NewZealand Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:37 AM EST

I don't think I can watch CSI ever again. Luv ya Jorja

blisteringsun Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:35 AM EST

Good luck Jorja. Real sorry to see you leave. And sorry to hear how CBS treated you so badly.

Jorjafan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:33 AM EST

Im gonna miss ya Jorja. It just won't be the same. Wish you had have finished season 8 atleast. We would have liked to have seen some geekbabies =)with love

TB Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:28 AM EST

Thank goodness!!! I thought this day would never come. Now that she's leaving, I can watch the show again. Good riddance!!!

Perry Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:25 AM EST

"aint no sunshine when she's gone"

Mark Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:22 AM EST

I love you jorja fox, never seen a chick on tv so darn hot as you! In that season premiere you had that biker chick thing going in the desert. Man! Oh MAN! Will follow you wherever you go.

lonelymindstir Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 02:21 AM EST

Join herpesmates.com if I were you. To meet friends who are suffer from herpes, hpv or other std. It is really a cool place to dating people who have std!

Greysfan Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 01:12 AM EST

Hey Jorja come over and star on Greys! CBS doesnt deserve you! Come to a REAL show.

Cammie Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:55 AM EST

Unlike others I don't believe what I read all the time. These are not Jorjas words, it is strange how CBS has not made an announcement. She said three weeks ago she did not want to leave CSI, now suddenly SHE is being forced to. She will be better off without CBS in the long run.

Mozz Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:51 AM EST

Good for her, she has other dreams and she wants to pursue them. She should do what makes her happy... I wish her the best, cannot wait to see what she does next.

Flora_Song Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:42 AM EST

I agreed that S. H. said Sara is a female character who used her head and not her breasts to get ahead in her job, and that's way I love her. Now, I just wish GSR have a good happy end.

Mary Brooks Tue, Oct 16, 2007 at 12:06 AM EST

It's sad when one of the original people leave a show. True it won't be the same, but people get a life it's show biz.She acted a nut and got busted. As to the other player's They are better off without her. Keep up the good work.

Mactank Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 11:37 PM EST

cool jorda..
http://www.mactanque.com

T. Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 11:27 PM EST

I hope that CSI bombs after this. I love all the other characters but CBS treatment of Jorja Fox is so disgraceful and disgusting, I wonder how they sleep at night.

Charlene. Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 11:26 PM EST

I hate CBS. This was not entirely Jorja fox's decision. That has become apparent in recent months.

Shane P. Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 11:25 PM EST

I would not have put it past the CEO's of CBS to have forced Ms. Fox to make this statement. They have shown over the years they care NOTHING about their viewers. I will start my own campagin to bycott CBS.
NO JORJA = NO CSI

s Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 11:23 PM EST

who cares. i stopped watching CSI about 6 years ago. the show is dull.

nojorja Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 11:04 PM EST

NO JORJA IS NO CSI THATS JUST THE FACTS.

connie Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 10:53 PM EST

Jorja Fox will forever be a part of CSI. She will missed by millions, and I hope she realizes what an impact she had on so many people. We love you Jorja and wish you the best in everything!

lannie Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 10:17 PM EST

if it's her decision i respect that and wish her the best of luck and I'm glad she is still on good terms with CBS

Sandra Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 10:02 PM EST

Sad to see the most unique character on TV go, but glad that I don't have a TV show to be obsessed with anymore. Goodbye CSI.

Rosane Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 09:13 PM EST

No Sara = No CSI, No Jorja = goodbye CBS

Aspire Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 09:07 PM EST

Is this because of all those people who campaigned for the Save Sara? I mean did they drive the producers to just get rid of her? Shame on you people if your bizarre behavior caused this outcome.

jaciara Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 09:07 PM EST

No Sara = No CSI, No Jorja = goodbye CBS

Buh-Bye Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 09:06 PM EST

Cool...now I can go back to watching CSI. Don't like her, won't miss her. I'd suggest she pursue a career that does not require acting skills.

Suelen Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 09:02 PM EST

No Jorja NO CSI

Rafaela Stuart Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 09:00 PM EST

Jorja I LOve YOU
NO SARA NO CSI

Rafael Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 08:56 PM EST

I Love Jorja Fox
No SARA NO CSI

JK Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 08:49 PM EST

NO Jorja NO CSI

Censorship Tester Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 08:02 PM EST

They should give her a really gruesome death, so Grissom can investigate it, while he's crying like a baby at the crime scene.

Butterflykiss Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 08:02 PM EST

I do believe you are being so gracious here Jorja Fox. I hope you get hundreds of offers for successful projects. I'm sure it is hard to work for people who afterall won't even take gifts of balloons? I mean do they kick children and puppy dogs as well?

Karla Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:58 PM EST

I just hope that she's leaving Sara married to the bug man cuz then this will totally suck hard!!!!

Tami Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:53 PM EST

We all lose out here. Whether you liked Sara/Jorja or not, this will be the slowly binding end to CSI. Do you realize how many thousands of pple(maybe not the first week, but week by week the viewers will leave. William Petersen will then leave and then it just won't be CSI anymore. Although i respect Jorja Fox's wishes, I too believe, this wasnt just "her" decision. Paying her what she rightfully deserved would have made her stay thru season 8, Im sure of that.

Rory S. Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:52 PM EST

Well, it is sad that she is leaving. I'm sure she will return for future episodes here and there. Well, God bless her in whatever she does next. :)

Clorissa Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:33 PM EST

I'm sorry... But I came to CSI for the characters. I have forensic shows elsewhere. It's called Court TV. Sara is my absolute favorite. My fictional role model. Ever since I was 8, I grew to idolize her. Friends tell me I'm exactly like her. Bye Bye Sara? Bye bye CSI. And bye bye me. Peace CSI. With Billy and Marg probably leaving at the end of this season as well, I'll leave you to die in your misery. This is your biggest screw up yet. And you'll be paying for it BIG TIME. And I dunno if Jorja was put up to this or if she's in denial, but the show ISN'T going to live without her. Even still... I respect Jorja's decision, but I don't think it's right. With Dead Doll. It gave so many of us hope, and now it's killed in 7 episodes. She better leave on good terms and able to come back or else.. Oh, CBS better be ready for Hell because that's exactly what they're gonna get. All you Sara/Jorja haters and anti-GSR people. You got what you want, and ended an amazing show. Happy? Thought not.

Finally!!! Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:28 PM EST

I'm happy this is becoming final. The GSR storyline was flatter than a pancake, and in dubious taste, as well. I don't care if Grissom stays solo or finds another mate, as long as it isn't another May-December workplace romance. Actually, I could even handle that as long as it isn't Sara. And they better not make her character into an invisible pregnant wife, either. She better be outta there!
Good luck to Jorja Fox, though.

leeza Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:27 PM EST

I hope that CSI has to end after season 8 because now it will never be the same. I used to think the writers were good, but to me, Jorja really didn't have a choice in the matter, she is just making the "best" of it. Kudos to her for being a class act, the same can't be said for Les Moonves of CBS.

Sheila Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:24 PM EST

In agreement, this is a peculiar annoncement after last weeks' one of an engagement.
If its true, only the best of luck to you!
If you were forced out because they don't respect you enough, CBS will get their own punishment one day.

NOEL Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:22 PM EST

I still blame CBS.

Sand Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:14 PM EST

If she wanted to leave she can. Everyone has their own choices in life but I will still watch CSI as I love the show. It is not about one single character for me.

Ggeeklover7 Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:14 PM EST

I'm devastated. Sincerely I am. I am hating to see her go, but I don't want to be selfish. She wants to pursue other options. Live her life... You can't fault a person for wanting that.

But... I think everyone will be unpleasantly surprised at how the show is going to turn out. I have a feeling now that the show is going to go straight down... and CBS will go crawling to her asking for her to come back. Ugh, this is going to drive me insane!

Keep Jorja Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:08 PM EST

She is the strongest female character on tv that is worthy enough to be a role model, I'm sorry to see her go. I hope everything works out for her and that she makes the occasional appearance on CSI.

Ani Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 07:01 PM EST

That's sad =( I think that she had a "look" like an ordinary person and that made CSI intrested. She was not a beautiful, extra skinny, and too much make-up actress. She made CSI "real" like an ordinary person.

Devottee Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:55 PM EST

We will miss you Jorja but I cannot seem to believe these are actually your words "did Les Moonves put you up to this?"

JUICY Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:54 PM EST

THis is all CBS's fault and nothing to do with Jorja Fox. Her personal or professional reasons have been miskewed here to keep the fans quiet.
NO SARA=NO CSI.

Tim Beard Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:52 PM EST

Yeah! Like Jorja Fox would be leaving if they paid her like they paid the male counterparts. I am a big fan of CSI but not for much longer. We will follow you wherever you go Jorja, just never go back to CBS. They are blackballed.

Jessica Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:43 PM EST

What a pity. I leaned this from the news at searchingmillionaire.com. It's a dating site for celebrities and wealthy people. Many people said they would miss CSI.

Matthew RI Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:43 PM EST

This is good news!
Never really liked her she came across as stiff, almost wooden in her scenes.
I hope CBS would hire a more talented actress as a replacement.

I'll definitely check out CSI in November when she's gone from the show.

In agreement. Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:39 PM EST

Am in agreement with puleaze's statement, it sure as hell is funny that Jorja Fox says this after it was reported to numerous tabloids about the Pay disputes. There is something fishy about this.

Pullllllleaaaaze! Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:35 PM EST

YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT AFTER JORJA FOX AND OTHER SOURCES CONSTANTLY STATING HER CONTRACT DISPUTES, THAT SHE IS LEAVING TO PURSUE OTHER THINGS ON HER OWN ACCORD? THAT IS TOO FUNNY. I DONT THINK THIS IS JORJA'S DECISION, IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE FANS FINDING OUT THAT CBS PAYS THEIR MALE ACTORS MORE, AND THEY DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE THE BAD GUY HERE! DID SHE HAVE A GUN TO HER HEAD WHEN SHE STATED THIS? PROBABLY!

Trinity Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:27 PM EST

Devastating news.

bubuluv Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:27 PM EST

Well I guess CBS has more money than they know what to do with, because Im sure if they offered her a "sweet" deal she may have thought twice about leaving. Well they will find out when their ratings drop.

so sad now Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:22 PM EST

I hope with those flyovers, those balloons, those flowers and all that money, that Jorja Fox knows how important she will always be to us all! We will miss her and so will Grissom!

shelly t Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:19 PM EST

well i guess i can take up bowling on thursday nights now! ;) because with jorja there is no CSI. Good luck to you Jorja, they will be lost without you.

Ana Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 06:01 PM EST

Jorja will be great anywhere she goes... she is one talented actress. I do admit CSI will be a little weird without Sara; her character emphasized an independent, hard working woman, one of which didn't need to show to much physically to be attractive (unlike other CSI women). Hope she goes back to making movies...

Roshelle Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:57 PM EST

I'm crushed...(*Tears Fallin*) I'm taking it slow..all i can say is that, Jorja is the ONE and ONLY REASON why i watch CSI. She is an inspiration 2me..I am majoring in Criminal Justice because of her (in the TV show). Watching what the show was about, and finding out who Sara Sidle was. Made me want to be like her. "I know it's just a TV Show but, it can mean more to others."

Overall, I will still support Jorja Fox 100%

I wish I could thanked her in person for all the accomplishments she has done for me. We All Will Miss Her.

sue Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:51 PM EST

well, she could always guest star on The L Word...they seem to have open arms for talented actresses who disappear from the radar...good luck to her...loved her in ER way back in the day too...

Lord Humungus Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:50 PM EST

GOOD! I hope they actually kill off the character. I always found her character shallow and had very little to offer the show.

c.s.ette Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:31 PM EST

oh no. i just hope they find a dignifying end to the character - i.e. she's preggers and leaves to raise her somewhere nice. (here's to hoping they'll pull a clooney once the show ends). JF is one cool ma'am.

Melanie Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:31 PM EST

I cant believe after all the hard work and dedication we put into "saving sara" and showing her how much we love her character, that she is quiting.

Dont get me wrong, i totally dont blame her for wanting to do other things with her life, i just hoped that she would look the other way for a while, and stay with Sara till the end.

I wish Jorja luck in what ever she wishes to persue and hopefully she will eventually come back to CSI and maybe have a cameo appearence every once in a while.

I think im gonna go cry now...

meg Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:26 PM EST

I didn't like the Gris/Sara romance so am glad it will fizzle out. But good luck to you, Jorja!

logo87 Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 05:20 PM EST

this is very very very sad news. I am happy that Jorja is leaving because she wants to pursue other things however we love you Jorja and we will forever miss you on CSI because really....there just isn't a CSI without you!

robbyrob Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:54 PM EST

dam i like Sara to be honest with you!!! wonder what her next project will be?

Shannon Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:52 PM EST

This sucks. Well, I quit watching the show in November.

spunkycsi Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:45 PM EST

I will be sad to see Jorja Fox go and I will no longer be able to watch the show anymore because it will not be the same. The only reason I watch the show is becuse I love the relationship between Grissom and Sara. I do not think she left on her own accord I believe she was pushed out or not offered a contract equal to what Marg Helgenberger makes.

Silent E Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:43 PM EST

It's a sad day for strong female characters everywhere! There are so few intelligent, free-thinking, clever female characters left on TV that she will be missed, indeed. Thus ends CSI, at least for me, and legions of others.

alexsandra Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:16 PM EST

I am so sad to hear this. I love CSI
and it will change the whole dynamic of the show. I wish her the best and I hope the show can live on without her...poor Grissom

Tanny Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:16 PM EST

This is just horrible news. While I completely understand her and respect her dicision I don't think I will be able to watch the rest of the episodes. I love Sara too much, and she is my main interest in the show.

Lisa Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:12 PM EST

So . . . didn't ew.com report the other day that Grissom was about to propose to Sara? And now she's leaving the show? I think this could mean there's a little heartbreak coming up.

Goodbye Jorja/Goodbye CSI Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:10 PM EST

I wish Jorja well in her future endeavors but the show still ends for me when she leaves. I didn't hang in with the GSR plotline for 7 1/2 years to watch it dismantled and wind up having Grissom hopping in the sack with someone else. When Sara departs, I depart. That's just how it's got to be for me and probably many other fans. I do wish JF well though. She's awesome and I hope whatever she wishes to do she will do and achieve. Such a sad day for so many. And I still feel that part of her decision to leave was because she wasn't made to feel truly appreciated but hey, that's my take on it

courtney Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 04:08 PM EST

I'm glad you is gone, she was the only character I did not like at all! Too bad they didn't kill her off in the first episode, that would have made for a TV shocker!!

GSR Fan Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 03:41 PM EST

Aw, that totally sucks. But I guess it was completely up to her.
I just wonder how they're going to write her off and how Sara's departure will affect Grissom.

Alicia Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 03:40 PM EST

I wish Jorja Fox much success on her future endeavors. She is a very talented actress and I hope she enjoys her time and pursuits. She will be missed!! Thanks for bringing such a powerful character to CSI

sarafan Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 03:36 PM EST

Kudoos for Jorja for taken time to do what she wants to do while she still has the drive. I will miss her character greatly but can appreciate her needing to move on. Best wishes to her professionally and personally

Nancy Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 03:25 PM EST

It's sad but not heartbreaking. It seems to me she's been wanting out for a while now, her play was not as beleivable as before. I hope she will realise some of the drems she wants to accomplish. Sorry, english is my 2nd language :)

Aimee Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 03:03 PM EST

Well, its obviously her decision to leave and although, as a fan of Jorja Fox and Sara Sidle, I am sad to see her leave but support the actress' decision to persue other things. However, she say "I have to get off the ride for a while" maybe that means she will be back in the furure or have a recurring role, well thats what I would hope for. CSI won't be the same without her but it wouldn't be the same if any character were to leave. I will continue to watch but may not enjoy it as much. I just hope her character leaves on a happy note and not surrounded by angst! Finally I would like to say thank you to Jorja Fox for giving me personally a great role model in Sara Sidle and herself and wish her luck for whatever she does post CSI!

Una Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 02:55 PM EST

It's really sad, sad, sad news :( I hate to see her leave! Sara Sidle is one of the best female TV characters ever and now... Bah. I only wish Jorja Fox the best in her future career. She's a beautiful woman, a talanted actress and an amazing person.

joko Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 02:50 PM EST

sara is weg!!!!!! partytime

S. H Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 02:48 PM EST

I am sorry to see her leave, but wish her the best. She has long been a bright spot television as a female character who used her head and not her breasts to get ahead in her job. It has also been great to to have a woman in science on a top rated show.

M.A. Epstein Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 02:41 PM EST

Ow.

That's just sad :( I'll miss her and CSI.
