They'd probably have to go with an unknown as the Lone Ranger. I've been listening to the old radio shows with Brace Beemer, and collecting old books from the 30's and 40's about the Lone Ranger. I also have copies of the old serials The Lone Ranger with Lee Powell (abbreviated) and The Lone Ranger Rides Again with Robert Livingston.

Clayton Moore got me used to a muscular looking character, whereas to me John Hart and Klinton Spilsbury looked scrawny. Hart even looked a little doughy around the midsection.

Also Clayton Moore was 35 or 36 when he first started playing the part. I hope they don't try to reimagine him as a younger character, like they have been with other renewed movie characters.

The Lone Ranger and the Green Hornet are related. Britt Reid (Green Hornet) is the grand-nephew of John Reid (Lone Ranger). That's rarely mentioned now because different companies own the rights to the characters.

I love the Dynamite comic series and think the Lone Ranger could be a great movie if done right. That 2003 WB TV movie is a good example of the Lone Ranger done horribly, horribly wrong...

I grew up with Clayton Moore being the one and only Lone Ranger, so it would be hard for me to picture another actor doing Lone Ranger, but I could deal with Nic Cage as Lone Ranger.
Whatever happen to the possible remake to The Green Hornet? I read somewhere not sure if it was a fan fantasy story that was written to where Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet were related.

So long as the writers do some cribbing from the splendid new comic series by Dynamite Entertainment, I'm on board. I've got no problems with updating the classics. Incessantly dipping into the 80s well, that's a whole 'nother issue (unless someone wants to do 'V: Tales of the Resistance, of course).
