The "love triangle" part was only the author's speculation.

I can't wait for Jason's return. He and Kevin make a great couple. (And I don't care if it's not entirely realistic; it's certainly no less than Kitty/Robert.)

In regards to a possible love triangle between Scotty, Kevin and Jason? Boo!
Let Scotty stick around long enough to be introduced to the man who managed what he never could (loving and being loved in return by Kevin, having an actual adult relationship with him, genuine sparks etc.) and then exit gracefully, stage left.
