Marie Osmond blames fainting spell on L.A. fires

So what caused Marie Osmond’s fainting spell on Dancing with Stars on Monday? “No, I’m not pregnant — eight is enough!” Osmond tells EW. “And it wasn’t because of diet pills or the heat.” Nope. It was because of the fires that have been raging through Malibu, making the pollution in L.A. even thicker than usual. “I really think it was the air,” she says. “Still, it does make you feel stupid.” Osmond, 48, had skipped the press line waiting for her at CBS Television City before the Stars taping Monday night. But she laughed off the incident when EW caught up with her after the show. “I’m sure I’ll be a punchline on late night [talk shows],” she said, and wasn’t bothered that Stars producers had milked her mini-collapse for all it was worth. “I was expecting it,” she said. Apparently those eight kids keep things in perspective. “I’m fine, so you have to have fun with it. I threw a couple of punchlines backstage myself.”
