Grey's Heigl Scores Bigger Check

Turns out Grey’s Anatomy’s Katherine Heigl—who won an Emmy Sept. 16 for her portrayal as Izzie Stevens—quietly scored the raise she wanted over the summer, putting an end to a long (and very public) salary renegotiation with the popular ABC drama. Last season, all the actors on Grey’s entered contract renegotiations—and were rewarded with raises as high as $125,000 per episode and some profit participation—but Heigl opted out when her reps and ABC Studios got into a war of the words. Heigl’s people said "the studio doesn’t value her as much as her costars" while the studio fired back by saying Heigl was offered  a substantial raise even though she wasn’t entitled to one because she (and her fellow costars) were still under the standard, multi-year contract. Eventually they found a way to make peace, though, and Heigl got her bigger payday.
